Ive said this before. If we convert all coal fire stations to gas fired we achieve an immediate 50% reduction in emmissions.

This could be done quite quickly in comparision to building nuclear. Nuclear btw would achive net zero from energy production but has very long lead time.

The technology (i prefer transition ) roadmap should provide a timeline to transition in and out of each technology. For me in aust i would promote gas over coal as 1st option / move to build locally and support EV by 2030 and aim for nuclear replacement of gas post 2030. You may agree or disagree but lets get the strategy rolling whatever it is. We are yet again stuck in the mud pending a fed election before any really strategy is provided. Common minister fund and prioritise the stranded assets in the nth bowen. Happy to vent but all IMO
