Same situation here, my wife does not work (trophy wife) I would be looking to have the loan in my name only.Taking into account tax considerations and looking at an average yield of 3% I would be positively geared. Do I just ring my mortgage lender and explain what I want to do or are there specialty lenders that are more understanding to this type of investing. I'm sure it would be quite easy to do this if I was investing in a rental property, but I imagine share investment may cause some confusion for a normal mortgage lender.
