Everskim, I think your referring to Monique Sasson Wakelin on the radio (ABC), possibly one of the most abominable spuikers of them all. The fact that ABC gives her a regular segment and then claims to have journalistic impartiality is joke.
She hasn't predicted any of the falls... She was advocating that 1st home buyers buy before the stamp duty concession was introduced last year because there would be heaps of buyer activity afterwards and that would drive up the prices.
Even this morning she was still trying to advise people to stick to the "fundamental rules" of property, one of those being by close to the city property (2-15km) - last I checked Hawthorn and Fairfield are pretty close - yet those are suburbs mentioned in the article with massive falls....
It really annoys me that she's given a platform to obfuscate and mislead.
