Yes, I agree with most of what you say, which is why I gave you a tick up.
Breakaway gaps, in comparison to normal trading gaps, are quite a rarity. They probably only make up about 2% of all gaps.
In our enthusiasm to see a stock do well, we often convince ourselves that a gap is a "breakaway gap", when in fact it is just a normal trading gap.
PIO recently had a "breakaway gap" followed by several trading gaps. Although the price got well above the breakaway gap the other gaps above that all filled back to the breakaway.
I am not saying it must happen, only that it usually does.
Beware the gap!!
