    States adopt climate change legislation
North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Wuerttemberg still want to have in this year climate change legislation in force. This also involves CHP and CHP plants play an important role
"At the end of June 2011 had the state government in North Rhine-Westphalia brought the first German law on climate change with climate protection goals on the way ( http://www.bhkw-infozentrum.de/statement/nrw-klimaschutzgesetz-chance-fuer-kwk.html ). By the summer of 2012, this will now be decided in the Diet.

In February 2012, Baden-Wuerttemberg as a second state by a Cabinet decision presented a draft Climate Change Bill, which by the end of the year should be passed by Parliament ( http://www.bhkw-infozentrum.de/statement/kabinett_beschliesst_eckpunkte_klimaschutzgesetz.html ).

Both acts are set in the course of an extensive catalog of measures on a much greater expansion of combined heat and power ( CHP ) and decentralized combined heat and power ( CHP ).

As part of the amendment to the CHP Act ( http://www.kwkg-novelle.de ), the two states get more in the political discussion about the future promotion of cogeneration.

The CHP Information Centre welcomes the initiative of the two states explicitly. No other technology has climate in the opinion of the CHP-Info Centre a similarly large CO2 reduction potential of such a low economic cost "
