bluegen cost may not be a problem

We have been struggling to manage with a stand alone solar system since 1992. Current BlueGen cost at around AUD $35000 compares favourably with necessary repeat upgrade costs of AUD $50000 of our system of 16 panels, 4/5 KW Sine wave inverter, and 36 massive lead acid batteries (least environmentally challenging for disposal). We also have no facility for FITS in our QLD rural area. To put it bluntly, after 20 years of solar - it does not work due to the erratic nature of the weather. We had to use a generator to top up the batteries and eventually connected to the grid. BlueGen appears to have the advantage of a constant supply; however, we would need the BlueGen to be able to work on LPG. Is that coming?
