How does BlueGen work?

About the size of a washing machine, BlueGen® is the world’s most efficient small-scale electricity generator.


BlueGen connects to your gas supply to:

1. Generate up to 36kWh of affordable, low carbon electricity onsite, 24 hours a day, everyday
2. Heat up to 200Litres of water for ‘free’ every day
3. Heavily reduce carbon emissions

BlueGen can be installed on-site in your home or business and it uses standard connections, operating with virtually no noise.

Coal vs BlueGen Fuel Cell Technology

Up to 78% of the electricity produced through coal fired electricity generation is dissipated before it reaches your building.


BlueGen Fuel Cells have an efficiency of 85% max. There are no long-distance line losses and waste heat is recovered to heat your water.



Carbon Savings

Each BlueGen unit can cut carbon emissions by two thirds compared to grid power.
In the Melbourne area, a 1.5kW Blue Gen system is estimated to save up to 20.9 tonnes of carbon emissions.
