Bluegen provide energy for innovation Ruhr
CHP model Bottrop installed ten blue gene and two fuel heaters
Heinberg, 22 October 2013.
Ceramic Fuel Cells (CFC), a leading developer and manufacturer of micro power plants based on fuel cells, providing a total of twelve micro-CHP systems for the energy project of the Innovation City Bottrop in the Ruhr. For this contract to CFC by the Europe-wide tender for the relevant gas and heat-Institut eV Essen (GWI). By the end of ten blue gene and two integrated Brennsoffzellenheizgeräte be installed at customers in Bottrop.
The micro power plant allows BlueGen especially small enterprises and public institutions the opportunity to independently produce up to 13,000 kWh of electricity per year. This new integrated micro-CHP system provides by installing a condensing boiler providing additional space heating and can be integrated into a higher-level control. The integrated system is thus suitable for year-round electricity and heating.
Because of the high efficiency with an electrical efficiency of 60 percent of the BlueGen can save about 50 percent of the CO 2 emissions of the German electricity mix. With a total of twelve plants installed in the optimum operation, this corresponds to an annual reduction of around 43 tonnes of CO 2.
A total of 100 buildings in the city are equipped Bottrop in field tests with advanced micro-CHP systems. The facilities are operated and tested under scientific supervision of GWI at least two heating seasons. Prof. Dr. Klaus Goerner, scientific director of the GWI, says: "The city of Bottrop is a model example of how climate equitable urban redevelopment can be successfully implemented. We hope that this pioneering role in other regions confident to apply this model and to contribute to an efficient and sustainable energy supply in Germany. "
Andreas Ballhausen, Member of the Board of Ceramic Fuel Cells, said: "We are delighted that our highly efficient BlueGen technology has been incorporated into the energy project of the Ruhr innovation. The city of Bottrop model shows how cities and communities can make their energy supply of electricity prices with the help of micro-power plants based on fuel cells environmentally friendly and independent. "
The innovation Ruhr has set itself the goal of climate justice to rebuild with the help of over 125 projects, the city of Bottrop, while securing a location for industry. We aim to apply the motto "Blue Sky. Green City ", the CO 2 emissions halved by 2020 and to increase the quality of life.
