"There have been numerous statements that the price of BlueGen would be $10,000. Please note that with volume, it is possible that BlueGen may fall in price to around the $10,000 mark. However, current sales volumes do not support such a low price. The current price for BlueGen reflects the actual production costs, and is set by CFCL, not Neco. The current price for BlueGen, along with its ongoing servicing costs, means that BlueGen is primarily a commercial product for the timebeing, ideally suited to organisations keen to drastically reduce their carbon emissions, and to demonstrate leadership in the green space."

I don't think that BlueGen was ever meant for individual users, the idea being that a utility would order a bulk quantity and install for a nominal fee. The payback is as a decentralised "power station". Individual customers might receive the hot water as a bonus/incentive for hosting the product for example.
