Mantle Mining rebukes media report on sulphur levels in Bacchus Marsh brown coal
    Friday, April 08, 2011

Mantle Mining (ASX: MNM) has rebuked a media report that claimed brown coal from the company's Bacchus Marsh Brown Coal Deposit in Victoria contains sulphur levels between 3 - 6%.

The company states that 'current substantiated knowledge'of sulphur levels in wet or dry brown coal from the deposit remains below 1%.

Mantle also pointed out that higher sulphur levels remain concentrated in a number of layers near the top of the seam, 'thereby imminently blendible'

The deposit contains one to two billion tonnes of coal according to modelling from 156 historic drill holes.

Bacchus Marsh is located 50 kilometres to the west of Melbourne and the same distance to the north of Port of Geelong.
