Requiring an investment of 48 billion CFA francs, it relates to the exploitation of phosphate carbonate (the country uses only the layer of loose his deposit), whose reserve is estimated at nearly 2 billion tons.

The authorities, seeking a technical partner for this project, have received several offers from foreign groups (India, Australia ...).

Once the operation of carbonated phosphate launched, the government intends to industrialize the sector, with the construction of a phosphoric acid plant. Planned investment amount: between 68 billion and 132 billion CFA francs. But by then, the priority remains the revival of production and better governance of the sector.
