Not exactly plough as you advance the face drill and blast you would have plenty of opportunity to see what you were passing though before you put in support. If they did hit anything interesting samples would be taken and postion surveyed in. If they had anything interesting they could then drill from surface to target or put in a small drill cuddy from which they could undergorund drill.
Of course all of this is speculation but entirely possible considering the blind and small vein nature of the deposit.
