I agree with you bandicoot. High-nugget orebodies require intense drilling, which sadly is one of the first budget cuts...
However, management are notorious for having the blinkers on when results do not make the grade. "If it was x there, it must be x here" Seen it before, and more often than not it ends in tears.
There are good guideline for Industry Good Practices on drilling. Such as 'When to stop drilling - Terry Lee SMEGD 1999. For those interested.
