Hydrogen has some.massive technical hurdles to overcome if it is ever to become mainstream.
- transport is massively difficult and expensive
- existing gas infrastructure is not suitable for hydrogen
- round trip efficiency is very poor compared to solar PV to storage (or even better, direct) to EVs
- lots of safety challenges
- expensive
hydrogen will.have some niche applications but mostly it is the last hope of the fossil fuel industry to remain relevant
