BMW is CATL's customer for lithium batteries.
But interestingly this new 10 year contract is for lithium and cobalt. CATL currently does not have any lithium or cobalt mines.
HuaYou has cobalt (largest cobalt supplier in China) and strategic stake in AVZ.

Recently, Aston Martin officially announced the five year trade and investment plan for the Chinese market totaling 620 million pounds (5 billion 440 million yuan).
It is reported that the CATL has entered the list of Aston Martin's first pure electric vehicle battery suppliers. This pure electric vehicle is limited to 155 vehicles, which will be launched in 2019.
In addition to the recent Aston Martin, many European brands including BMW, Volkswagen and Daimler have used the CATL as a battery supplier.
