Bandanna Energy may have had its sale process terminated, but there’s been no lack of interest from third parties keen to form a joint venture with the coal junior.

An offer is already on the table from one prospective JV partner looking to tap into Bandanna’s Springsure Creek coal project, located 35km south-east of Emerald, according to sources close to the situation. But the deal has yet to be formalised.

The recent allocation of capacity in the 27 million tonne first stage of the Wiggins Island coal terminal, near Gladstone, is a major drawcard for parties looking to expand their footprint in Queensland.
