The recent article highlighted that some BNPL companies have lost 96 percent of their value
The bubble has burst
In reality though all ASX listed BNPL companies should go into liquidation as the entire business plan is nonsensical.
1. Make micro loans to financially desperate individuals who require to split payments of $150 on average.
2. Borrow money from banks whose very credit card business you are trying to disrupt.
3. Use every opportunity to denigrate the same Banks as outdated and untrustworthy.
4. Carry out soft credit checks on financially desperate customer base
5. Spend cumulative billions of dollars on non exclusive customer acquisition without any guaranteed repeat revenue stream.
6. Generate miniscule transaction margins which are largely dissapated or overtaken by credit losses.
7. Alienate bank financiers to then have to resort on borrowing from aggressive hedge funds with guaranteed stop losses for relentless shorting
8. Helpless to counter aggressive shorting to the level that no one left to raise finance from.
9. Last one out turn off the lights.
10 . Deserves its own hash tag.
