I don't think ZIP has transcended listing rules JCoure, our government funded national broadcaster instead took aim at ZIPs alleged moral transgressions. Of the shareholding, there was 78,000 holdings of $500 or less and ZIP notified the market and the holders in advance that if they wished to retain them, they must notify the company, or their holdings would be sold at a prevailing average price free of brokerage. Some didn't receive the communication, many ignored it and when the SP rose they appeared to suddenly come out of the woodwork. They complain that they should have been required to opt in to the small holding sale, rather than opt out, to which I would say, how would that have turned out when the aim was to clean up the very untidy register? The rules are there for a reason, they were adhered to and the job was done.
I can't say I agree wit a lot of the company's actions, but I think this was perfectly justified.
