Thanks JeT07. I guess I was reading this a different way. I was thinking that if a director is reliant on payments, except directors fees, from the company for which he is a director, then independence could be questionable, ie., don't bite the hand that feeds you. That is separate to the value of work the director performs as a proportion of the company's expenditure but rather a comparison to any other sources of revenue the director has.
