Yes.
It is one thing to have stock impacted by known public information and another if trades are in play with incomplete information, which hopefully is not the case.
The Board, since heavy criticism of it on release of the 2017 annual result, which spooked all investors given it came off the back of the strong first half result, has actually take quite an aggressive stance to fix financial performance. The:
(1) 300 store closure program, heavily weighted to the 2018 financial year,
(2) head office cost cutting, which the Chair said was at $3m for the first quarter,
(3) break even forecast in the second half of 2018, a strong turnaround and compared to several million of losses in the second half over the last few years,
(4) significant on-line investments, albeit recurring glitches noted in social media postings by customers
must be commended and I have no issues at all if the stock price is trading on what is known here. In fact, it represents a good long term buying opportunity for those that understand a restructure is in play and can see opportunity for SFH to continue to be a force in fast fashion in a Australia, with foreign sales growth opportunities, along with a well balanced on-line and bricks and mortar dual go to market strategy. A raft of US and other international retailers have been hit from the same sorts of industry issues and many have commenced resurfacing in quite a good way once they've had their on-line and physical stores reconfigured correctly. That is, personally not extremely fussed on all the industry noise here and are comfortable with the recent response and actions taken.
The price will always be hit from any one of the large investors selling out, such as Renaissance, given the low liquidity of trades on any given day.
What is absolutely unacceptable though, is having some in the know about external firm appointments and others not, or a move from statements made publicly as little as a few weeks ago if this is the case, which again hopefully is not.
