Does the "everybody else is doing it" excuse condone people coming here to live off our welfare? You are right, we have our own Australians in all rungs of society cheating our system, does that mean we just put our hands up and let others do it too?
Some of the stats are damning in relation to welfare payments and boat people.
And yes, you are right re the GFC and the governments spending is somewhat justified. And this has been done to death on the other forum. However, our government has had a history of failed initiatives. Look no further than the blowout in costs for the issue we are debating at the moment.
