Seem to have stumbled upon red neck corner here.

Not saying that climate change caused the floods, but who can categorically say that it had no effect whatsoever? What are your collective qualifications to do so ?

Your argument seems to be that you've read a poem (or is that the National Anthem?), that states that there have been floods and drought in Australia before, therefore climate change doesn't exist.

Doesn't matter about the overwhelming scientific evidence for the existence of climate change, that world leaders now universally acknowledge, accept, and are preparing for it. (even johnny howard belligerently did so).

If climate change exists, then its reasonable to assume that we will start seeing its effects, in the form of unusual and exaggerated natural events, like this.

You can start your education by looking at the official Australia Government policy on climate change:
    http://www.climatechange.gov.au/

If you live near water, you can look up how your house will fare under current projections for sea level rise maps (these maps are officially released by the Australian Government)
