although i am a fence sitter, i still dont believe completely in global warming. mainly because it seems it just keeps evolving into what ever natural disaster comes next.

Though in regards to flooding, over the hundreds of years of humans occupying certain areas, we have purposely built in areas that were once natural flow paths for heavy rain water. We have built in rainforests, wetlands, just about anywhere and everywhere. its hard to track where exactly old flood paths once laid because no history would of really been kept. Another factor is the diversion of water. increased building and population has diverted traditional holdings of water from now developed areas into creeks and rivers which now have even greater capacitys pushed onto them by development.

i work in the area so i have an understanding. but basic principle is that any built up area has a storm water system designed to take the water away from the property, roofs, roads, driveways etc. In its natural state the ground would usually pond and soak into the soil but now has been diverted into waterways increasing demandand flow requirements.

Human Development and "climate change" would be a reason for alot of disasters which happening rather then just climate change imo...
