the only reason you object strongly is that you have made up your mind the sky is falling and simply want everyone else to accept your theory.
Fortunately by not running around in a panic isn't doing nothing.

To say something like the below simply illustrates the panic

"The danger if you fall into that trap is people will say things like "an ice age is overdue so let's do nothing"."

It isn't obvious to people now because it isn't obvious. There is flawed scientific data published out of emotion or simply incorrect conclusions.

The global warmist campaigners have now become climate change supporters.

No one is saying do nothing. What they are saying is lets be sure of the facts before we apply revenue raising resources into addressing a potentially very small part of the problem if a part of the problem at all.
Enviromental reasonings aside (ie polution still is a massive problem and needs addressing whether through carbon taxing or other means)we need to be concerned about the effects of climate change and whether it can be in any way managed by mankind and if not it needs to be prepared for.
How you can strongly disagree with that is confusing.

The real danger is if the global warmist/carbon tax theorists get their way all focus is on man made pollutants and not what is actually happening.

It shouldn't be difficult to address both issues but first of all it needs to be accepted that the issues whilst potentially related are not one and the same.
