Age and health left out of the decision, retires now, and can look back and say he brought a few in parliament.
Goes into the next election and the party gets obliterated he gets rolled any way. He's probably 69 or so at this time.
I think this is a very calculated decision, and seems to time in quite nicely with Labor's or was that the Green's carbon tax.
