Or just as likely, kids are brought up with unrealistic expectations and ideas of their own self worth by being told how special they are and how individual... and thus end up with huge tickets on themselves.
Any time some 17 yr old wraps a car around a lamp post and kills himself and his mates, we are treated to media images and sound bites about "how special, unique, lovely etc etc" they were whilst hordes of them hang around hugging each other. Surely they were just a bunch of kids who couldn't drive properly and thus performed a modern act of natural selection.
A good thrashing, a paper round and a proper bloody haircut should sort them out. Oh and bring back National Service and hanging whilst you're about it.
