Reading through these posts I am a bit disappointed at the attitude against country people. I can understand now why the Independents didn't side with the Liberals (and their patsy mates the Nationals).

Its not just country people who have fallen behind but its city folk as well. There's a whole new game going on and we're missing out. Just reading a recent report that Aust ranks 40th in ave download speeds and 71st in upload speeds.

You guys need to check your speeds - just doing a bit of looking around (no-expert so check for yourself) I have satellite speed of upload .06mbps, download .51mbps.($100 per month). Compare that to average speed SKorea 36.09 mbps, Romania 22.55mbps....no Australian city ranks in the top 100 cities.

Fibre optic -- 100mbps + which I assume alot of cities around the world have been enjoying for some time. (a post from Netherlands -- 120mbps $90US a month, Aug 09)

Lets face it, 34 Billion is only 3 times the black hole that treasury found in the Liberal party election promises. And if country people aren't included we'll joining the refos down at centrelink. Don't take it so badly, wasn't the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge built off the sheeps back?
