At 1-2% of the federal budget I have no problem with city taxpayers like myself subsidising our country cousins with respect to the NBN. They should build it first in the regions. We city folk can wait.
As for the constant bleating, lets make a bet that if the ALP win the next election, all the grumpy seniors here will retire gracefully.
