There's been private money in the past and bitcoin (not crypto) is the latest iteration. Governments are obviously opposed to ending their monopoly on violence and coercion.
You can't use bitcoin to pay taxes and it has no armies to defend the "free market" and scammers at Tether are creating it in unlimited quantities of Tether USD to support the bitcoin price.
I'm not being negative I don't have a position either way as I've said I'd rather own real commodities in demand with supply deficits than an abstraction be it dollars or bitcoins.
I think bitcoiners are all good and I hope it works for them just not for me I am a dogmatic value type.
