We have created the best model for society in the known universe but human greed always finds its way in and once corruption festers it takes a lot to rid it. America was meant to be the world protector but has been infiltrated and used to fuel the military industrial complex. Look at how Japan was able to evolve its infrastructure so rapidly by not having to dump all this money on a defence budget. America continues to do it as a means to harvest tax dollars into big business. A change in the model would only last until human adaptation figured out how to manipulate and exploit the new rules.
