I think they are taking lengths not to influence the market price because they want to reduce the sharecount at the lowest possible price.
That's at least what I would do and there are options to minimise what they call "impact" on Interactive Brokers which I use for example.
I seriously doubt that Kerr cares about the shareprice on any given day.
