We just dont know what happened in most of human history Dakk, how many hours people worked what for and why.
Why for example did the people of Teotihuacan build this great city then one day all get up and abandon it for 1,000 years?
Were early farmers of the Holocene just taking advantage of floods because they preferred a migratory lifestyle. Why didn't they establish permanent crops, maybe they preferred to work less or enjoyed swapping with hunter gathering.
300,000 years of human history how old is writing? Pretty new isn't it? So we can't know much of all those generations of humans much like us not dumb cave men.
Were those people happy did they have complex society and how many hours did they work. Perhaps some were better others much worse than us.
They coulda used plumbing for sure but bankers not so much. 2009 was appalling we are in for something similar today I reckon.
All I'm saying is take the good, leave the bad including lazy union reps, keep an open mind - it's robust criticism that makes good bosses but at big companies people mostly blow smoke up their arses.
