I think it reasonable to assume that the robotic share trading would be a player, if not a very significant player in the declining share price of AMX and other resource stocks in general. Any of the economic metrics out of Europe or USA would trigger resource stock selling by the algorithms which would feed off of these inputs. For instance lack of real growth, lack of productivity increase, increase of debt levels as % of GDP, inflation, etc. These are metrics the algorithms will monitor and react to.

Now this may in fact turn around, as there are some econometric figures emerging which allude to the possibility of gold and hence gold exploration stocks being revalued upwards.

One of the latest, pertains to the status of "risk free assets" called the bond market. If investors lose faith in the (artificial) sustainability of the status of the Bond Market and indeed function of this asset class, then money will flow to another more risk free asset. Gold may well be in this class.

The discussions on re-rating of gold as an asset for Banks is of interest.

Also to consider is that the algorithms do not directly take into account some of the mis-information which has been circulating about Ampella's assets, which Kitto has now taken steps to address. They react only in a charting sense, and the charts have been linearly down (Ampella as well as others). Now the mis information has been cleaned up, and a new trend established, the algorithms could follow some interesting days, months etc could lay ahead.

Time will tell.
