I really like the bit where one "expert" claims that even if the pickle fork component completely failed the wing wouldn't fall off.
OK Mr Expert tell me this. Since when did aeronautical engineers design large aircraft components which were planned to crack in half? The idea that the travelling public should dismiss any concerns about cracking is obvious BS. What else would airline spin doctors say?
Boeing manufacturing standards have declined ever since Boeing took over McDonnell Douglas that's a fact. And I have resolved never to fly in a Boeing aircraft ever again. I'm off to Europe next week and I chose Emirates because they use Airbus.
