It is possible that Trace could lose Djiffere and that FAR current option to farm-in via Trace is lost but no concrete evidence on that score but there is a bit of smoke. There was an upstream article a few weeks ago claiming Petrosen and Total had drawn up a hit-list of blocks where operators were not in good standing (such as Trace?) and licences renewals were halted. Total would get a free ride into various blocks not in good standing but perhaps for X% share FAR would help them with fast track 3d for Djiffere block and immediate drill targets using their SNE experience? The upstream article also claimed the the small oilers that potentially would lose out were fighting the Sen govt in the courts - this made me wonder if this is why Malcy dropped the "sub-judice" bomb a few weeks ago. Is FAR farm-in to Djiffere with Trace linked to a deal on PE and subject to current court action (trace v sen gov)? Who knows? Those that do are probably silenced by sub-judice provisions.....we wait and hope for news in the meanwhile. Shorters thrive in uncertainty.
