Geological Technician & Samplers

• Black Oak Minerals Ltd are conducting open cut mining at the Mount Boppy Mine Site located approximately 50km east of Cobar in central NSW.  We require a Geological Technician & Samplers
  Samplers: Samplers work as directed to collect grade control samples from blast hole drill rigs following a defined work procedure.
  Position Requirements
• Previous experience preferred
• Literacy and numeracy skills to at least year 10 level
• The majority of time will be spent outdoors in the Mt Boppy open pit adjacent to drill rigs in all climate conditions, both on day shift and night shifts – a good level of physical fitness is required
• Proven ability to adapt to changing situations
• Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
• Geological Technician: In addition to undertaking sampling duties the Geological Technician is required to assist the Mine Geologists with tasks including (but not limited to):
• Ensuring that all resources required for sampling are available for the task, when required
• Sample dispatch and tracking
• Data entry
• Monitoring stock levels of consumables
• Assisting with ore mark outs and
• Supervision of ore mining Essential attributes
• Position Requirements
• Numeracy and literacy skills to at least year 12 level
• Basic competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Basic knowledge of QA/QC procedures as applied to sampling
• Previous experience in a similar role and basic skills with mining software such as Surpac will be looked upon favorably but not essential
• Proven ability to adapt to changing situations using initiative
• Suitable physical fitness for the task
• Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
• Recent graduates with tertiary qualifications in geology or earth science are encouraged to apply for this position
  
  Employment conditions
• Remuneration commensurate with experience
• Roster: 14 shifts on 7 days off, Work schedules are based on a 24/7 operation, with shifts of 12hours duration,
• Travel to site to be completed at own cost and in own time.
