The SDL interests are for all intensive possible geographically as far as you could hope to be from Boka Haram from a Cameroon perspective. The main area of operation for this terrorist group has been in the back reaches of Nigeria and recently has been in the common board areas of Nigeria,Chad and Cameroon. The Nigerian Government have proved to be ineffective in countering the insurgency because of its weak leadership and this has let them run wild in Nigeria without fear.
This is West Africa and this is already factored into the region risk aspects of doing business in this part of world. The red circle shows the activity in Cameroon and the red star shows the SDL mining area (approx.)
Cameroon would have to be totally overrun and fall to this terrorist group before they make it to the south.
I suggest that other Africa states , the French (as they did in Mali) and possibly the USA/UK would be involved well and truly before it got that bad and if so Boka Haram hopefully will no longer exist to inflict their misery on innocent people of the region.
