If I was a dictator and there was an Australian mining company mining significant amounts of gold inside my country I wouldn't bat an eyelid about nationalising it. Gold, oil, diamonds... anything I could use to buy more weapons to keep my foot on the throat of the masses I'd nationalise.
History would back me up on this.
