I think the answer is in your question. A lot of TA tools use momentum/volume vs SP to give traders their entry exit indicators.
bollies is only one of many different tools, and TA is not an exact science but if you have been watching as I have we have broken the upper band twice in the last two weeks and both times the SP did not advance until this was rectified.
if traders used FA as their source they would always be one step behind.
