BTW Mr Abbott is a L I B E R A L [see my sig.] and as such is pro social security safety net etc but also pro-growth and fiscal responsibility. The anti-Abbott rhetoric started because of his conservative religion and now that he is seen to be broad minded, they are trying to stick him with that too. There is just no pleasing you.
The fact that the lefties confuse the libs with tories doesn't mean they ARE tories. Being a broad based party there are some true conservatives in parliament but they are individuals and do not set policy. When they voice a challenging opinion they are speaking on behalf of a minority but they still have a right to have their case presented.
