Having said that, Costello doesn't speak for the Liberal faithful and he deep down knows Turnbulls new cabinet and supporters have been painted with the big poo brush and will cop voter backlash next election. Remember there was only 5 votes in this deadly coup to unseat a sitting Prime minister. Costello probably wishes he had a set of balls back in 2006, but then again, Keating rightly described him as a low altitude fligher. Costello would have been PM in 2010 had he hung around. He didn't.
