Having a maximum temperature colder than the minimum for a particular day is not necessarily an error.
It can occur if their is a cool change during mid morning
It depends on what time of the day the readings were taken.
Also, before weather stations were automated, readings were taken at 9:AM and recorded for the previous day's date.
