More utter rubbish yesterday from BoM - Their helpers @ ABC - reported Winter rainfall breaks decades-old July weather record in Birdsville, Bedourie 8July24 https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-07-08/birdsville-channel-country-record-winter-rainfall-july/104068900 ABC quotes BoM saying [Birdsville recorded 16.4 millimetres in 24 hours at the airport site, which was a July record.] The Birdsville Airport Number: 38026 site has only been running since mid 2000 but very close nearby is Birdsville Police StationNumber: 38002 with data from 1892. And on 24July1986 (see may screensave below) recorded 43.4mm - way higher than the 16.4mm yesterday. Note that on the 25th 26mm fell which also way exceeded yesterdays rain at Birdsville.
