If it makes you feel any better, there are thousands of silent observers that know the BOM is full of it.
As an aside, the Wagga Wagga weather station at the Forest Hill air strip can oscillate up to 3'C in as short a phase as 15 minutes and then do it again and again.
If 37'C is the hourly constant they can get an extra 3'C by measuring the breeze off the tarmac that lifts it to 40'C.
Again mission accomplished! Another heatwave (not).
