You mean GDX. I did the calcs on closing prices from 16/07/2018 to 16/07/2021 and got slightly lower return for GDX and slightly higher for NST. Also wonder how you treated dividends. Another consideration is exchange rates, which have favoured GDX lately.
Overall, I think NST has been disappointing, even compared to other goldies (producers), but I'm happy to ride it out.
