@sunnyaus - HotCopper is the last hide-out for the RWNJ brigade - Their way of talking about an elected government, leader etc. is not to be copied. We have endured and been held back by conservative governments too long - there is much catching up to do, before the present lot get weighed down by the inevitability of human failings etc. I see democracy as a civil way of progressing to a consensus and towards progress, by the ability of both conservative and progressive forces getting a chance at government. Whatever mistakes the previous government has made, the present is making, always stands to be corrected a little by the forces of opposition. So not all bad. I was most impressed by the instant reaction of our PM and also by the LOO and the Police. Everyone involved in rescue efforts in this tragedy, can be proud of themselves.
