We had a family visiting our church once with family name Stewart. The pastor was about to serve Holy Communion, he called for the pre-appointed stewards to come forward to do their thing. "Could the stewards come to the front please." Not being familiar with our service format, a somewhat bewildered Mr. Stewart stood up and gathered his family to go to the front. Awkward.
Off topic now, but one of the other funniest moments in our church's history was when a visiting preacher mistook a brother and sister sitting next to each other for a young couple. He was talking about marriage during his sermon and singled them out.
"Sir, are you married to this lovely woman?"
"Noo...."
"Would you like to be?"
At which point the service descended into chaos...
