Many moons ago, when I would be driving an hour to a teaching gig in the morning, I would listen to the ABC's book reading. I wonder do they still do that, using wonderful readers. Anyway, at one time the book being read was Isobelle Allende's House of the Spirits, a story with Chile's fascist government persecution of dissidents as the background. A wonderful book. So I've just discovered they made a movie of it and I'm just going to watch it Too wet to do anything else.
