@alonso you are a great reader, congratulations.
The book I remember most was read by my/our entire family. Our children had brought it home from school, it was the Lord of the Rings by the English writer J.R.R. Tolkien We literally stole the various books from one another and read it all in record time. In all there were four, but there is one more - The Hobbit - which I read later on.
They are beautifully written, with cleverly invented Elfin language poetry, absolutely no real sex, but a lot of love (for the Ring), the Ring which had the power to twist men's (and hobbits') souls. Much later I took my grandchildren to the movies, and remember as we were leaving; there were four of us, of varying heights including a lodger I had living with me for 3 months, who was shorter than I - and 'Lodger' saying; 'we look like we had escaped the Story' and we all laughed.
I still love the musical score, to which my now deceased daughter contributed the mysterious sounds of her monochord, which always had to be transported to Abbey Road studios in a van, and which sounds always predicted the appearance of the 'orcs'.
It seems to me that early in the 20th century Tolkien channelled the evil energies the 20th century let loose upon Europe (and mankind) into a story of myth and legend of truly grand proportions.
P.S. I have read bits of all the writers you mentioned, have written a bit myself, too, maybe there will be another work forthcoming - also myth - but I have to live a bit longer for that.
Go well
