I plead guilty. The era of the Bright Young Things held a fascination for me for a long time. Especially Nancy. i heard her interviewed once on the BBC program Great Lives and the voice was incredible to listen to. It sounded like it had been squeezed out of some distortion machine. And I gather they all spoke like that.
Again I heard Evelyn Waugh the novelist talk about her. He and Nancy kept up a life long correspondence, which I've read.
Her books have nearly all been filmed, one or two several times, mainly the ones about growing up in the Mitford family.
